For a week, professional roller skating artists Michelle Felix and MAB, along with choreographer Charles A. Washington (Pinkmetalpetal Productions) and contemporary dancers, retreated to the rehearsal space. Their goal: to find out what happens when the world of roller skating meets the language of contemporary dance.Now they are opening the doors and inviting you to be part of this process. The joint research navigates between urban subculture and classical dance technique, between flow and form, between freedom and structure. It is not just about questions of style, but about the big idea: Can seemingly separate movement cultures connect to create something entirely new?
